I first got started with cabinetry in junior high shop class where I started making custom pieces for friends and family. From there I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in carpentry. After high school I worked for a general contractor for five years and learned the ins and outs of residential construction.
In 2016 I joined Kustom Kitchens where I started with service and installation. It wasn’t very long before I started helping customers design their kitchens. Helping customers start to finish with their projects is very rewarding and I personally enjoy meeting their goals and seeing their reactions.
I have been in the finish carpentry business for over 16 years. I originally started working on interior projects for new custom homes in Lincoln and Omaha. I’d work on doors, trim, stairs, bent handrail, and cabinetry. Cabinetry was what I enjoyed the most. That’s when the project seemed to take the biggest jump from construction to being a home!
Once I started a family, my wife Krystal and I decided to move closer to home and back to Norfolk! From here I did installs and fell in love with sales and designing. I enjoy meeting great people and sitting down with them from start to finish.
Being an installer for 15 years definitely helped me with custom kitchen design. I can see the project in my head and see how the job needs to be installed. There’s an ability I have, to understand issues that may come up and being able to eliminate them before they happen. It brings great satisfaction at the end of a project knowing my customer has put their trust in me to make their dream kitchen or bath come true!
